Glenview Terrace Among the First Skilled Nursing Centers in Illinois to Begin COVID-19 Vaccinations

Glenview, Illinois – Glenview Terrace announced it has been chosen to be among the first of all rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities in Illinois to vaccinate its healthcare workers, short-term rehabilitation patients and long-term residents.

Administered by CVS Pharmacy, Glenview Terrace began vaccinating on Monday, December 28 in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and recommendations. Glenview Terraced used the Pfizer vaccine, which the FDA approved for emergency use on Friday, December 11.  Glenview Terrace is offering the vaccine to all patients, residents and staff at Glenview Terrace. Those residents who are not mobile are given vaccines in their rooms.

“We can finally see the end of the tunnel,” says Allen Hollander, administrator at Glenview Terrace. “This is an important moment in our ongoing fight against COVID-19 and our endless commitment to keeping those we serve safe and healthy —as well as our entire community.”

Being in the forefront of providing vaccinations in Illinois is the latest precautionary effort Glenview Terrace is taking during this pandemic. From the beginning, Glenview Terrace has strictly followed the Illinois Department of Public Health, CDC and Cook County guidelines. Glenview Terrace also routinely tests and monitors all patients, residents and staff for COVID-19—and provides a separate isolation wing in the event any patient may be confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19.

Though vaccinations have begun, indoor family visitations are still suspended until further notice from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
