An Important Update from Glenview Terrace’s Administrator
As you know, COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving situation, and as it evolves we’re committed to updating you on measures taken within Glenview Terrace in connection with this global pandemic.
With this update, I’d like to start with some good news. I’m excited to announce that the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has made more tests available to us. I’m also excited to announce that NorthShore University Health System and NICL labs are partnering with us to get the validated test results back within 24 hours. This means we can now define treatment plans faster and even more accurately—and can conquer the invisible enemy of COVID-19.
As we begin testing more residents, we anticipate to see the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases to increase. We know this may sound alarming, but these residents are already being isolated appropriately, and we’re just confirming their diagnoses with the increased availability of tests.
From the very start of this global pandemic, we’ve taken precautions to protect your loved ones from COVID-19, and we’ve strictly followed the guidance and all recommendations of IDPH, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
I’d also like to express how extremely proud I am of our staff for continuing to come to work despite the risks associated with COVID-19. Each and every one of them has been working extremely hard to make sure our residents are safe and properly cared for.
As you can imagine, our staff has been busier than ever, and we apologize for any delays you may have experienced if you reached out to them. We’ll do our best in updating families as we learn more. And as has always been our practice, we’ll proactively contact families if there’s any significant change in their loved ones’ condition.
If you’d like to discuss anything further, please call me at 847.729.9090.
I appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult times.
